June Happenings

I can’t believe I’m so behind with my blog.  I have to look back at all my pictures to see what transpired in any given month so that I can write about everything.

June was quite busy.  Jessie finished her first year of school and on the last day we ended up having a picnic in the classroom (unfortunately, it rained that day).

Jessie and her Daddy also went to visit Steve and the rest of the Blue's Clues gang at a show at the Long Island Children's Museum.  Here's Jessie with Blue and Steve:

Jessie also went to her friend Abby's birthday party and her friend Angela's birthday party.  Abby's party was in a gymnastics place and Angela's was in her backyard.  I think the pool was a little cold, but Jessie was a trooper!

Jessie and Abby...again...

Mom, it's awfully cold, but I'm staying in!

Jessie with Shayna, who she worships!
At the end of the month, our nephew Luke graduated from high school.  Jessie loves Mook (Luke) and we were so proud of him.  He had a great party afterwards too!
Mom, stop taking pictures of me!

It's all about me!

Congratulations Luke!

Now I have to start thinking about July...

A New Beginning

As the headline states, the adoption journey is over and the life journey has begun.  I had wanted to update Jessie’s blog for quite awhile now and finally got it done (thanks Diana!).

Jessie has been home with us now for over two years.  I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by.  When I look at pictures from two years ago and compare them to how she is now, the change is pretty dramatic.  She has transformed from baby/toddler to a little girl.  It is so wonderful to see.  Jessie has been such a blessing to us.  We are lucky.  She has always been a genuinely warm and caring spirit.  In fact, her preschool teacher last year said that she was very ‘nurturing’.  When another child would cry in her class, Jessie would go over to console them.  That, in a nutshell, is our daughter.  She is a pretty happy kid who goes along with the flow.  She loves her friends and loves seeing them.  Loves to hug and kiss them goodbye.   She is incredibly sweet.  Of course, she is not perfect.  She has the typical meltdowns and tantrums that all kids her age go through.  She obsesses over things that make no sense to me.  She freaks out over things that make no sense to me.  The list goes on.  But by and large, she is a very good girl and a wonderful daughter.

On another note, she is blessed with a fabulous Daddy who, no matter how tired he is, plays with her when he gets home from work.  Reads to her at night and lies with her as she goes to sleep.  Takes her on errands, or to the library, or to the park, or to shows.  He is also very patient with her (unlike Mama).  She loves her Daddy.

And, I think she loves me too!
